The Art of Entertaining

The Art of Entertaining

Deloittes asked us to revamp their annual client cocktail party.  They wanted to bring a fresh, creative edge to what was taken for granted as an established, traditional event.

Our idea was to build their party around the sponsorship of an exhibition of work by students of The Royal College of Art, which itself has a fantastic pedigree: famous alumni include David Hockney, Tracy Emin, James Dyson, Ridley Scott and Dinos Chapman, as well as the creators of the original telephone box and The Times format.  These were people whose designs helped to shape our landscape.

We titled the occasion “A Glimpse Of The Future”, and held it in the College’s cool and contemporary gallery space in Kensington.  Here, guests had the opportunity to see and buy new and exciting art works by the RCA's final year students.  We invited leading figures from the art world to judge and present awards, which gave the evening a central focus and added prestige.  The occasion became a hot ticket event and the high level of energy on the night transformed just another drinks party into a stimulating and enjoyable chance to engage with the art world in its fledgling form.
